It’s starting to get rainy/monsoon like in Hong Kong. It can’t stand this shit… I don’t mind sweating and what not, I just hate it when I’m in street clothes. Nothing is worse than walking 10 feet out the door, the day has barely begun and you’re already dealing with a full-on case of swass. The future of the week featured none other than Jean Touitou of A.P.C. This one ranks up there as one of my favorite interviews thus far, walking a fine line of arrogance and confidence, he puts out some bold answers that I’m sure has a few people skimming over it more than once. Features have pretty much breathed a new sense of inspiration into me it seems. Mind you we’ve been doing them for more than six months, but looking back on what has come of the last few months, I’m pretty happy with what we’ve done and hopefully it has become somewhat of a respected platform which will lead to more and more interesting personalities in the fashion world much like Touitou himself.

I couldn’t resist… $9 HKD ($1.26 USD) socks (on sale)… Uniqlo socks is consistently on point. Shit retains its shape quite well in addition to moisture wicking materials.

I’m very fortunate and extremely grateful when people send things my way. The whole process takes effort and of course $$$ but these two probably mean a little more to me cause they’re from the homies back home. Justin Der and his store Foosh recently celebrated his 10th anniversary and went the route of a collaboration shoe with Creative Rec in something any Edmontonian will recognize, the colors of the Oil. After starting with Hypebeast in Hong Kong, I went back to Edmonton for a few weeks with a few months of HB-experience under my belt. I would wake up at 7 am or so work for a few hours at HB and then head over to the store and work an 5/8 hour shift. Along the way Jud and the crew taught me a lot of things and maybe really showcased how fun this industry can be especially thanks to the good personalities you meet on a consistent basis. Congrats to Jud and crew, I owe these peeps a lot!
When I saw the “Hard Luck Club” tee from Brknhome’s 2009 summer collection, I thought to myself, shit that resonates with me quite a bit. Not to be a little bitch, but it seems like I’ve never really gotten a lot of breaks in life. I know I’ve been more fortunate than many but my success has largely come from hard work rather than any so-called “luck”. It has been a blessing of sorts, you cherish the good shit that happens and brush off the stuff that never works in your favor. Back to the t-shirt, I told some more E-Town-affiliates in Arthur and Dan over at HAVEN to put one aside for me so I could get somebody to pick it up for me back home. Low and behold I find a package on my desk from Edmonton’s most famous half-Polish brothers. Sick belated birthday gift!

What does this even mean… or maybe I’m too dense to figure it out?

“It’s possible we’re evolving toward a new techno-cognitive nomadism, in which restlessness will be an advantage”… ADHD will soon be a desirable trait HA!
Another piece from the same article New York Magazine article (which I doubt you’ll read cause it’s 7 pages long haha) that talks about focus and distraction… I too wonder what our generation will develop in addition to how our communication landscape will change from here on out thanks to the Internet.

Now THIS is a pop-up store…Nevermind $9 socks… $2 HKD ($0.26 USD) for underwear, socks and dish clothes.

If there’s one pair of shoes that I haven’t regret purchasing in the last year… it is definitely the Danner Japan Mountain Light IIs. Them shits are built like a rock and of course re-soleable… I could wear these every day.

Sidenote: Upgraded to 4 GB of RAM finally and re-formatted this piece of shit Dell XPS M1530… runs decently now. I actually found out that usually when it gets really hot, it’s cause I’m running an external monitor. Temperatures of 90 deg C/200 deg F weren’t uncommon and pretty ball-burning haha.
