Holy shit, this follow-up Link Dump really put into perspective how much I read… and this is only the stuff I felt interesting enough to re-post. My picks for most interesting include the last one and the one regarding diet and evolution.

A Fish Oil Story
Apparently much of the “healthy” fish we eat for its Omega-3 fatty acids come from a big-headed, smelly, foot-long member of the herring family called menhaden, which a recent book identifies in its title as “The Most Important Fish in the Sea.” Aside from the oils that go into supplements, the fish is apparently a good filter for algae but as the story goes… it’s getting depleted.
Time To Talk
Article talks about how all too often art classrooms are too focused on the final product and less and less time is spent on the conceptualization and creation of a foundation. Sure you’re putting in more effort but the end result is inherently more noticeable quality work.
Tiger Woods at the Front Cortex
While Tiger Woods has been admired for his unrelentless focus in the ream of good… were we wrong to assume that this skill shouldn’t have been extrapolated to all walks of his life?
The Accidental Empire of Fastfood
Despite our hyper-accelerated Internet driven approach to business these days, Shake Shack still prefers the slow and steady tortoise way of expansion. But when a new generation of entrepreneurs comes into the picture, will they have these same mentalities?
The Eight Ball Jacket Phenomenon
If you’re over the age of 20, I’m sure those hideous (and probably fake) Eight Ball jackets you came into your contact are still a distant memory of your youth. Gary Warnett breaks down the history of a jacket worth murking for.
Viruses That Leave Victims Red in the Facebook
I’ve seen this happen more and more… getting flooded with retarded SPAM messages over multiple platforms like Twitter and Facebook, all revolving around these social media viruses.
In Bolivia, Water and Ice Tell of Climate Change
Don’t think in 5, 10, 20 years… Bolivia is facing a serious water crisis cause of global warming. People are essentially water-less in major cities, affecting both poor and semi-affluent.
Abu Dhabi Tightens Its Grip as It Offers Help to Dubai
I’m pretty sure this is the beginning of the end of the Dubai party as we see a $10 billion USD bailout.
Human Lifespan: Another Potential Link to Early Fat & Meat Scavenging?
I’ve read a bit about this and this quite a bit in which it talks about human evolution’s hints as to what our most natural diet should consist of. Based on a human’s small guts but large brain, it suggests that high fat (and no saturated fats and fat in general is rather healthy for you) were necessary for our human evolution.
In Defense of Meat Eaters, Part 1: The Evolutionary Angle
In Defense of Meat Eaters, Part 2: Animal and Human Well-Being
More talk regarding the evolutionary role of meat in a human’s diet as well as how animal protein is inherently better for you.
Last Romance with Film
One of the most prominent debates in the realm of photography regarding Film vs. Digital scores a slight win for digital here. If you’re looking for huge megapixel files, it’s true that film can provide them on a much cheaper body but the results are a bit disappointing. $1,000 later and many disappointing rolls, this guy is throwing in the towel for film.,
Dressing for Success, Again
Before, it was common for the older generation to be dressed to impress, yet these days apparently the roles have been reveresed as a new younger generation have claimed that title.
Uneasy Engagement:
China Hunts for Art Treasures in U.S. Museums
“China is like an adolescent who took too many steroids”
So there’s this big museum tour in which various “Chinese officials” (actually co-sponsored personalities) are going to various museums around the world trying to reclaim stolen Chinese artifacts. But as it stands, I think China’s still figuring out how to socialize properly with the outside world… however they can barely socialize amongst their own people.
Advertising Age: 7 for All Mankind jeans a decade top 10
Ummm… sure. Can you really think that 7 for All Mankind is a top 10 “New Products of the Decade”. Get the fuck outta here.
Sarah Palin Screws Over Hairdresser, Forces Utahns to go Tomato Less
So Sarah Palin while on book tour bums a free hair-cut off a hairdresser who skipped taking her 3-year old to the dentist, then had to go tomato-less cause the grocery store temporarily pulled tomatoes off the shelves in a proactive measure just in-case Palin was to get pelted by tomatoes (something that happened earlier on tour).
Kawasaki coach bows out after J.League failure
Despite doing enough to garner a contract extension and by no means having a bad record, Kawasaki coach declines on the grounds that he failed and he wants to leave the opportunity to others.
Stormtrooper Helmet Battle
So the original designer of the Stormtrooper helmet is in a legal battle with Lucas Arts over who owns the rights. Seeing as he owns the mold, he’s been producing helmets as art pieces as part of Shepperton Design Studios.
Last Romance With Film
After dropping close to $1,000 on film equipment and processing, this guy figures you know what, there really isn’t all that much worthwhile with film.
Energy-efficient traffic lights can’t melt snow
Hmmmm… maybe TOO efficient. New LED traffic lights don’t produce the (un)-necessary wasted heat to melt snow. So much for going greener.
The Economics of a Free Google Phone
Well not free per-say, but priced accordingly so that Google doesn’t make any money but consumers get the handset for as cheap as possible. $200 USD and I’m more than down. Google pretty much organizes and runs my life.
Insurgents Hack U.S. Drones – $26 Software Is Used to Breach Key Weapons in Iraq; Iranian Backing Suspected
All it takes is $26 to get your hands on “flight tapes” from United States Army drone planes. Despite much less funding relative to the US’s massive military backing, ingeninutiy and efficiency still can’t be bought.
Blessings in Disguise
Time to get emo for a second… this is something that is so true. No matter what shit gets thrown your way, it isn’t so much about the past that matters, it’s going forward. How do you adapt and how do you make things work based on your previous experiences. Lamenting over the past is a fruitless experience, sort your shit out and move on and if you’re smart about you’ll find out that all the shit in the past inevitably made you a better person.
