In the last two days, I swear I’ve sat in front of this computer for at least 32 hours. My eyes are killing me… I started talking some blueberry supplements, apparently they’re good for your eyes but as of right now, they sure as hell ain’t working. I’ve been busy with a new project I launched with two friends, Andy and Season. I’ll probably talk more about it later. Starting this Link Dump, I added some new elements and tags to links. A ‘SSS‘ means that the read is short, a ‘***‘ means it’s an article that I personally felt particularly interesting. And in various scenarios, if it’s a video or a set of pictures, I’ll denote that by ‘Pictures:’ or ‘Video:’. Yeh it’s the weekend… so catch-up on that reading son! Time to get off this fucking computer and go outside, have a good weekend.

SSS: Denotes a short article.
***: Denotes an article I found particularly interesting

#1. ***Dear Mark: Raising Healthy Children
Ok so I pretty much practice and preach a decidedly un-conventional diet that go against the usual FDA-instituted norm of low-fat, high carb diets… and while the instances of obesity in the Western world have been a great indicator regarding the unhealthiness of this style of diet, it still is what it is. Processed, carb-rich foods are a billion dollar business controlled by multi-nationals, so when I have little shits running around, how do you bring them up properly from a nutritional stand-point.

#11. ***Being an Expert Takes Time, Not Talent
I’m sort of debating this point, depending on the industry, yes all it takes is time and practice but when you consider an industry that is extremely competitive, let’s say professional soccer/football, the time factor becomes less evident and talent and intelligence take over.

I don’t do any regular running/jogging so unfortunately I can’t really reap the benefits of barefoot running since I do all my running in soccer boots. #70. Why Amazon Cannot Afford to Lose the eBook Wars to Apple
Simply put, books means much more to Amazon that it does to Apple.
#71. ***Essay: Too Many Angles to Suffering
In Haiti, there was an enormous amount of photography based on the tragedy that transpired. Yet, at what point is it too much? Is it a bit of overkill when you have 15 photographers all shooting around 1 victim? While some may argue, inevitably the framing of one photographer to another differs, in the grand scheme of things I think that the imagery produced is largey the same. In Hong Kong, so many people have cameras with them. And with it, you sort of feel like there’s no need to take photos at various big events cause everybody has a camera with them. It detracts from the moment itself when everybody will reproduce largely the same images.
