I had bought a Motorola Milestone (or DROID for those in other parts of the world). I lost it within a few weeks… fucking khakis! Fell out of my pocket on the minibus I figure. It was hard to keep reading as I resorted to the trusty but slowwwwww Nokia E71… enter the HTC Desire I picked up over the weekend. So far pretty happy but HK having no paid Apps Market blows. Ah well, soon enough I guess. #11 and #18 are DEFINITE reads in my opinion.

#1. From Dung to Coffee Brew with No Aftertaste
I read this awhile back but I just watched Bucket List and they make mention of this shit-picked coffee bean.
#2. Bull Market? Try Peacock
Once again the argument that a strong economic climate = bright clothes, weak economy = conservative and boring.
#4. On a Treadmill in Afghanistan On the Road to Boston
Training for the Boston Marathon on a treadmill in Afghanistan makes me think that’s not adequate preparation.

My friend Dan of HAVEN gives a rundown of how he did his Desaturated piece for his recent art show.
#7. Video: A View of Taipei from Salvo Severino
Taipei has always been a fascinating city to me. Part of it is the Japanese influence, part of it is the real Mainland China vibe to it as well… regardless this video presents a serene look into the Taiwanese capital.
#8. Pictures: Tiny Totem Sculptures on Crayons
I fucking love totem poles.
#9. Pictures: Big Picture: Earth Day 2010
Earth Day 2020 will look like…
#10. Picture: Stage of A Photographer
Everybody picks up a camera these days for different reasons… where one will end up depends on their seriousness I guess… Myself I’d say I’m at the three way vertical intersection of the “how good do you think you are”.
#11. ***Nike’s Women Problem
Nike seems to be unfazed by women-based scandals like the Kobe Bryant rape case, Tiger Woods’ adultery case and most recently Ben Roethlisberger. Pretty interesting article.

#14.After Coup, Niger Resumes Business As Usual with China
China keeps things moving… The buck is getting passed, few decades ago, it was China desperate for foreign investment and now China’s the one looking for the next spot to pop-off.

Why doormen are still popular in New York… why social status of course.
#16. Book On Samsung Divides Korea
Samsung = shady? Lots of corroborating evidence seems to think so.
#17. A New Kind of Starting Pitcher
So… would it make more sense to start having relief pitchers actually start games even if they’re only good for a few innings in hopes of missing up the rhythm and above all else get some solid pitching to kick off the game? But alas, baseball is notoriously conservative and these changes seem much too drastic.
#18. ***The Imitation Economy
I think this notion that it isn’t so much innovation that is pinnacle, it is about how to make something better and how well you can learn from your mistakes. Awesome article, one of the best one’s I’ve read over the last little while.
#19. Jarrett’s Blog: DUI/Hit And Run
Ever want to get inside the mind of a drunk driver who was charged with hit and run… peep it…
#20. Crowdsourcing Asking People What They Want
Interesting to see the final product when you have the input of a “crowd”. In some ways, is there difficulty in effectuating clear and concise decisions when you are in excess of a very small group (let’s say more than 3 people) versus when you have an undeniably large group. When you have 10,000 people, does each people realize their voice is that much less consequential and they’re more accepting of decisions and the inherent large-scale democratic process?
#21. SSS – The Social Rationality of Footballers
Shooters take penalty kicks based on making sure that even if they fail, it isn’t entirely cause they fucked up but cause there was the external influence of the GKer making the stop. The GKer despite being statistically better off to stand in the middle will dive so it looks like he tried haha.
#22. ***What Makes Marion Jones Run?
10 years ago, on top of the world at age 24 and holding 5 Olympic Gold Medals, Marion Jones takes a stab at the WNBA… her life is much different now that’s for sure.
