
I’m far from one to pump his own tires, but I guess this is worth mentioning. Next week I’ll be giving my first ever presentation outside of school at The World After Advertising: The Conference on the Future of Advertising. At first based on the title itself, I wasn’t sure how relevant I would be towards this cause. While Hypebeast does survive on the basis of advertising, I’m not really sure how I could offer any insight into the matter. After some back and forth, I was able to tackle the issue of the Long Tail and what I perceive is the ability to exercise full creativity within online media. Having never worked in print, I can still confidently state that physical limitations can put up various barriers. The presentation is titled Online Media and the Long Tail: Thriving Creativity talks about the diversity Hypebeast exercises in content and how media platforms can exist all while staying out of the mainstream.
