My experience (albeit online mostly) with cats from the Island of Hawaii have been generally a good one. My homie Jasper Wong as well as the likes of Jun/Randy of In4mation,KICKS/HI, Stussy OG Jules Gayton… they have all been influential in their own rights and perhaps a testament to their links with to the island of Hawaii and their upbringings (just a random thing to throw out there). Most notably, the dudes have been making huge noise on the relatively small island and always maintained an appreciative relationship amongst us which isn’t often the case throughout the industry. When I first saw the premature drops on Atmos involving KICKS/HI and Reebok, I knew they had some bangers on their hands and I was pleasantly surprised when the KICKS/HI sent over a box of both the green and the black ones. I’ll go out and say, these are in my runnings for top shoe of 2009. The perforated suede is classy as fuck as are the nice details including the embossed heel and mini pops of orange.
