True Hong Kong has a grip of different places to eat, but alas, Caribbean food is not one of them. There are actually very few restaurants I go to on the regular but whenever I’m in Vancouver, I seemingly always go to The Reef at least once. I’m far from a Caribbean food conoisseur but jerk spice ranks up there. Ambiance is kind of cool, but the service on this particular night was the shits. Actually had super high-hopes for the meal cause the appetizers (jerk wings / island crab cakes) were totally on-point… but our entrees took another hour before they came out. But I guess they righted a wrong by comping the whole thing. Feels sort of weird getting a meal for free… or maybe he thought I was a food blogger. Nobody cares if you take pics of your food in Asia, it’s seemingly part of the accepted dining-out landscape haha.
