I never really thought much of what went down, I thought there were much crazier issues celebrity-related issues that had gone down which deserved more airplay… Lots of people throwing in racial implications etc, but I’m really not all that familiar with the US racial landscape to make my own call on it. It was on TV the other day on a replay of the show and I couldn’t really be bothered to watch it… not sure why… maybe I was slightly embarrassed for Kanye but could this be the last time we see an outburst like this from him? I think some of his previous times where he stepped up to the plate were notable such as Hurricane Katrina. Whether you love him or hate him, he has a powerful voice in our current pop culture arena and I think his influence can be put to good use in the right context. Keeping quiet would be the little bitch move but if something that needs to be addressed comes up, I would hope somebody puts their neck out there.
