Made a stop in Vancouver on the way back to visit the best friend Dee… took me to Dutch Wooden Shoe Cafe… the place was like a blast from the past… straight outta the 80s I swear with cheesy decor all around haha. My open-faced omelette was much like the decor… lackluster.An unfortunate fact, but who knows when the next time I’ll see Dee again, maybe next year she’ll be doing her life-saving and nursing somewhere else??? The flight back to Hong Kong was a blur, I passed out hard after not sleeping the night before for on an afternoon flight. On the 12 hour flight, I was awake just long enough to eat two surprisingly ok meals and watch the original cast of The Fast and the Furious work their magic on Fast and the Furious 4. Lady beside me asked if I was ok cause I was pretty much KO’d. She may have wanted to go to the bathroom but couldn’t cause I didn’t wake up… whooops.

Big thanks to Dante Ross who’s now helping run things over at Pro-Keds as these were waiting for me after when I got back into Hong Kong. When Dante first started breaking down the road ahead for Pro-Keds, I was a bit skeptical to be honest, but I think these Opening Ceremony joints and the things he has in the pipeline are a testament to the re-emerging brand’s success.
I think a long time ago I made mention of trying to learn how to read/write Chinese. I fell off the wagon not long after haha… but I’m back on. To be honest, I’d be more than happy to just be able to read. My hand-writing is terrible, you’d probably think I had two left hands at my disposal so writing in Chinese is friggin’ ridiculous. Task #1, get the food characters down haha.
