Catch of the Day: Salmon

catch-of-the-day-01

Seeing a ton of my peers participating in the recent European tradeshow/fashion show circuit was tough to watch over the last few weeks. Alone I sat in my cramped little bedroom office as people were actually participating in good ol’ fashioned face to face interaction ha. The tradeshow that perhaps caught the most looks and attention was Bread & Butter which after a few years in Barcelona returned back to its original host city of Berlin. Not sure if any of you caught pics of the show but it all went down in a massive airport hanger. Props to Philip Gaedicke (blog| Twitter) and the whole Bread & Butter crew as they arguably set the tradeshow bar that much higher. Bringing it all together were some special collaborations between Bread & Butter and both Asics and Super sunglasses. The Asics joints were a 2-pack affair with the GT-II undergoing a “Salmon & Butter” treatment. More looks regarding the “Butter” pair can be seen here. Big thanks to Phil… was super stoked when these arrived on my desk. I’ll be frank, I won’t be wearing these shits, just keep them on in the box till I have something suitable to display them in… which is hopefully right around the corner. The color looks real good but not sure how they’ll look on my feet haha. Packaging was on point as well with brown-paper wrapping throughout and a woven bag surrounding the shoes.

Here are some other Bread & Butter collabo pieces… shades with SUPER.

Rounding things out were some fresh 3 Stripes courtesy of the U-DOX crew. Nizzas… somehow they seemingly appeared out of nowhere and have now become one of the main faces of adidas Originals… not sure what took them so long, everything is pretty well done with this shoe.

Random picture… this has been my desktop for I don’t know how long.

My first pair of Stan Smiths… leather is pretty buttery but I would have liked the pebbled leather on the sides to extend. I got to meet and interview Stan Smith awhile back… pretty cool experience. He came across as extremely humble and really didn’t mind the fact nobody knew who the ‘f he was after all these years of endorsing one of the world’s most popular signature shoes.

Hiroshi and Shuhei put together a pretty crazy ass CASIO G-SHOCK party in Hong Kong a few weeks ago. So crazy… I couldn’t even get in haha. Him and the Subcrew homies made a limited run of G-TKO tees. Sequins, not my thing by any stretch, but a nice gesture.
