Taken from #10 Big MacChicken

Been on a pretty big book binge as of late… I picked up a few books about a week ago and hope to rip through them like cheap toilet paper haha what a terrible joke. I picked out a good 7 or 8 books but realized, fuck this is expensive and double fuck I have no room for this shit. So maybe I will get one of those iTampons or whatever they’re called… or a Kindle cause it’s way cheaper. Anyways, a pretty good shit mix of links this time around. Next Link Dump, seems like there’ll be a lot of nutrition-based links if that’s your thing.

*If you’re always on the go, I’m a huge advocate for Instapaper. Basically you can bookmark links to read on your mobile device later and it can strip away all the unnecessary imagery to load more quickly.
**If you encounter a login page for a NY Times article (yes there are quite a few of them…), I highly suggest signing up for a free account or else use this dummy one I set up.

#1. ***Official in China Says Western-Style Democracy Won’t Take Root There
I wonder how much the Western world views China’s political system as the country’s one aspect that in my eyes will prevent China from being a true full-circle super power. I just see that the lack of free-thinking and the thought that decisions only lie in a few powerful elite will be detrimental to creative thinking. When I mean creative thinking, I think beyond just art and culture, I mean problem solving, I mean thinking outside the box.

#2. ***Video: Millions of Chinese rural migrants denied education for their children / Dan Chung filming China’s migrant children using the Canon 550D / T2i
Cool video and a bit of sad story. In China, the hukou is a schooling system where a children can only go to school dependent on their parents status as country or city dwellers. This status is only inherited and the result is that many children who follow their migrant parents are denied schooling. But guess who has built China… yeh massive amounts of migrant workers.

De Bethune is like the… of watchmakers? Leaving no stone un-turned in the relentless pursuit of high-quality, one of a kind engineered watches, De Bethune trumps all watches out there as they put out some crazy shit. I’ve taken a greater liking to watches more so on design… it’s on a similar tip to car design for me.
